
Golden Flashes Head to Jesse Owens Classic

Kent State will begin the final month of the outdoor track and field season at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday.
Competition on Friday starts at 12 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and men's javelin throw, with running events getting underway at 4:30 p.m. The men's shot put and women's discus will start action on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Running events are slated for 1:00 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Among the 75 student-athletes entered for competition in Columbus are four Golden Flashes who own top-100 national rankings.
Leading the way are Ayden Bath and Amare Hall in the men's long jump. Bath ranks 39th and will also compete in the 110-meter hurdles, while Hall is 79th in the long jump. Zamen Siyoum will run both hurdles races and is No. 98 in the nation in the 110m hurdles.
In throwing events, Kristen Jay is ranked highest at No. 63 in the women's javelin.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Flashes will send the majority of the team to the Northeast Ohio Open at Akron next weekend, while distance runners will compete at Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight.
