The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2025 Preseason Collegiate Watchlist on Thursday, with Kent State midfielder Eva Usoz earning a selection.
The NFHCA Collegiate Watchlist, released before the start of each season, recognizes field hockey student-athletes throughout the country with the strongest potential to earn NFHCA postseason honors. Athletes are nominated by their coaches and must have previously been recognized with an all-Region, All-American, All-Conference, or All-Tournament team selection within the past two seasons.
In 2024, Usoz led the Flashes with 22 points, eight goals, and six assists, ranking sixth in the Mid-American Conference in assists and eighth in both points and goals. She also had three game-winning goals for Kent State, helping the team to a 5-3 conference record and a MAC tournament semi-final appearance.
With a selection to the 2025 NFHCA Preseason Collegiate Watchlist, Usoz has earned the honor for the second consecutive year. She was named to the 2024 NFHCA Preseason Collegiate Watchlist following a freshman season where she led the Flashes with 22 points and nine goals to claim MAC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-MAC honors.
Usoz and the Flashes will kick off the 2025 season on Friday afternoon, as they welcome Mercyhurst to Murphy-Mellis Field at 4 p.m.
