
Golden Flashes Back at M.A.C. Center Wednesday to Host Bobcats

The Kent State women's basketball team will host Ohio at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the first of two home contests this week at the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (6-10, 1-4 MAC) are coming off their first Mid-American Conference victory and led by as many as 16 points during a 78-65 win at Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Mya Babbitt led all players with 17 points and Dionna Gray posted an impressive stat line with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists and career-high five steals. Led by Bianca Juzzo's 11 points and Caitlyn Holmes' career-high 10 points, Kent State totaled 38 bench points, the most in a non-Senior Day game against a Division I opponent since Jan. 9, 2021.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the fourth leading scorer in the MAC at 15.7 points per game and has two of the top four single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is third in the conference with 34 three-point field goals. Juniors Riley Rismiller (7.6 ppg) and Tatiana Thomas (7.6 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has three double-doubles and ranks ninth in the MAC in rebounding with 6.8 per game, while Thomas is grabbing 7.4 boards per conference contest. Senior Dionna Gray (5.3 ppg) is sixth in the MAC in assists with 4.6 per game.
Scouting Ohio
The Bobcats (10-4, 4-0 MAC) have won five straight, tied for the longest current streak in the MAC, and have started 4-0 in conference play for the first time since 2015-16. Ohio ranks in the top 20 nationally in three-point field goals per game (9.3) and steals per game (12.6).
Guard Bailey Tabeling leads the team with averages of 13.7 points, 3.1 assists and 2.1 steals per contest. Tabeling ranks second in the conference with 35 three-pointers and has shot 13-of-24 from behind the arc during league play. Guards Bella Ranallo (11.4 ppg) and Aliah McWhorter (9.6 ppg) also provide scoring options on the perimeter.
