
Golden Flashes to Open Indoor Track and Field Action Friday at Akron’s Al Campbell Invite

Kent State begins the indoor track and field season on Friday with a short trip to the University of Akron at the Stile Athletics Field House to compete at the Al Campbell Invitational.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
The 36-event meet is scheduled to start a 3 p.m. with six field events. The men's 5K will start running events at 3:45 p.m. The final running event is slated for 7:30 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 63 student-athletes entered for competition, including three all-conference performers at last year's Mid-American Conference indoor meet. Donovan Crawford captured his first MAC gold in the men's weight throw, while Sean Callahan Jr. (men's 60-meter dash) and Zamen Siyoum (men's 60-meter hurdles) placed second in their events.
Headlined by men's one-mile record holder Baidy Ba, seven Golden Flashes who own top-10 marks in the program's record book will be in action in those events. Callahan Jr., Siyoum, Ayden Bath (men's 60m hurdles), Gabrielle Hammonds (women's 60m hurdles), Alexa Nestor (women's 60m hurdles) and Grace Adegoke (women's high jump) are the others.

The Golden Flashes will host the annual Jud Logan Memorial at the Kent State Field House on and Friday, Jan. 23.
