Kent State Opens Indoor Season with Eight Event Titles at Al Campbell Invite

AKRON, Ohio – Eight Kent State track and field student-athletes won events during the indoor season opener at the Al Campbell Invitational on Friday.
Four of the Golden Flashes who earned victories recorded a personal-best that places them in the top 10 of the program's all-time performance list. Sean Callahan Jr. led the way in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 6.66 seconds that is just .01 off the school record. Ayden Bath's time of 7.85 seconds in the men's 60-meter hurdles prelims is fifth all-time. Bath clocked in at 7.88 seconds in the final to win the event. Amryne Chilton posted the No. 6 women's 400-meter dash time in 54.97 seconds. After finishing just .01 off her personal-best in the women's 60 hurdles prelims, Alexa Nestor clocked 8.61 seconds in the final, which places her eighth all-time.
Micah Coates and Baidy Ba also raced to victory in running events. Coates won the men's 400-meter dash in his Kent State debut with a time of 48.82, while Ba ran the men's mile in 4:10.07.
In field events, Grace Adegoke won the women's high jump with a clearance of 18'-9.25" and Keeli Dunaway won the women's long jump with a top mark of 18'-9.25".
Kyla Taress posted a personal-best height of 13'-1.75" to place second in the women's pole vault. Her mark puts her eighth on the Flashes' all-time performances.
Camille Dunifer (women's mile; 5:08.65), Gabrielle Hammonds (women's 60m hurdles; 8.72), Casey Musgrave (women's 200-meter dash; 24.79) and Zamen Siyoum (men's 60m hurdles; 8.15) also recorded runner-up finishes at the meet.
The Flashes will host the annual Jud Logan Memorial at the Kent State Field House on Friday, Jan. 23.
