
Sydney Davis And Anna Zucconi Take Home MAC Lacrosse Player Of Week Honors In Week One

Cleveland– The Kent State Lacrosse team took home two of three Mid-American Conference player of the week awards in week one of the season after a 12-11 comeback overtime victory on the road over Lindenwood.Â
Junior Sydney Davis took home goalkeeper of the week, while junior Sydney Davis won defensive of the week.
Sydney Davis stood in net for the full 60 and overtime in a season-opening win over Lindenwood. She finished with a game-high 14 saves including some big saves late to give her team an opportunity for a fourth quarter comeback. After one game, she leads the conference in saves per game by a wide margin.
Anna Zucconi started off strong on the defensive end after a conference All-freshman team selection last year. She was a force on the defensive side of the field causing four turnovers and grabbing four ground balls. She also helped the defensive unit to hold the Lions to two goals in the fourth quarter and overtime.
The Golden Flashes(1-0) will be back in action for their home opener on Saturday, February 14th as they take on the Mercyhurst Lakers at 1 P.M. at Dix Stadium.
