
Kent State Track and Field Finishes First Outdoor Meet in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – Kent State totaled eight top 20 event finishes on Saturday as the Raleigh Relays concluded.
The Golden Flashes' best finish on the final day of the opening meet of the outdoor season came in the women's 4x400-meter relay. Yissis Cortijo Dominc, Ainhoa Reparaz Sanchez, Laila Eiland and Amryne Chilton placed third with a time of 45.84 seconds that ranks as the seventh fastest in program history.
Luigi Case and Amare Hall had strong performances in the men's long jump. Case soared 23'-9" and Hall had a top mark of 23'-3.50".
Zavion Mattox ran a personal-best time of 21.08 seconds for ninth in the men's 200-meter dash. In the women's 200m, Laila Eiland placed 17th in 24.25 seconds.
Beau Harkelroad recorded the final top 20 finish in running events with a time of 53.62 seconds in the men's 400-meter hurdles.
Kennedy Landrus (women's hammer throw) and Alexa Nestor (women's long jump) both took 19th in their events. Landrus' best throw soared 170'-6" and Nestor had a top jump of 18'-3.75".
Kent State will be back in action next weekend and travel to Slippery Rock for the Dave Labor Invitational on April 3-4.
