
Three Golden Flashes Write Their Names Into Record Book In Season-Finale Loss To UMass

Amherst, MASS - The Golden Flashes wrapped up their 2026 season with their first all-time meeting against the University of Massachusetts minutewomen in their inaugural year in the Mid-American Conference.Â
The minutewomen got off to a hot start and defeated the Flashes by a score of 19-5. However, it was an historic day for the Kent State Lacrosse program as three Golden Flashes etched their names in the record book with broken records.
In the first half, junior goalkeeper Sydney Davis was able to break the single-season program record for saves as she finished the season with 171 saves. Anna Zucconi also broke Kent State's single-season record for ground balls with 47, as she previously broke the season record for caused turnovers this season, setting that mark at 32. Zayda Crumpton was able to tie Lilly Miller('24) for the career-record in caused turnovers with 57.
UMass started off the game by scoring six goals in the first five minutes. The Flashes would score two goals in the second quarter from Morgan Halli and Halieigh Greenberg, but would fall into a 10-goal hole heading into the second half.Â
Seniors Emily Bond and Zayda Crumpton would score goals in the second half in their final game with the Flashes as well as junior Megan Kelpacki who put one in the back in the net in the fourth quarter.Â
Crumpton and Eva Anderson contributed assists while Crumpton also finished her career with six draw controls. That sets her mark as the program's career leader in Draw Controls with 286.
Zucconi finished the day with five ground balls and one caused turnover on the defensive end while senior Camryn Meek, Crumpton and Amber Shinsky each finished with two caused turnovers. Alli Bradley also contributed a trio of ground balls. Davis finished the season with another double-digit save performance with 11.
