Golden Flashes Set to Start Season at Boilermaker Classic

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel Women's Golf team opens the 2026-27 season Monday morning at the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The event is a three round, two-day tournament hosted by Purdue University at the Kampen-Cosler Golf Course. Round one will be a 9am shotgun start on Aug. 31 with round two following immediately after. The final round will take place on Sept. 1 with a 9am start time as well.

Notes:
- Kent State placed 3rd out of 14 teams at last year's Boilermaker Classic, defeating two Mid-American Conference teams (Toledo and Ball State), and a pair of power-four teams (Purdue and Iowa).
- Ole Miss won last year's Boilermaker Classic with a final score of -2 (862). Meanwhile, Indiana placed second with a score of -1 (863).
- Kent State senior Veronika Kedronova placed the highest out of all the Golden Flashes' returning golfers in last year's tournament, finishing 8th with a score of -1 (215).
- Kedronova comes into the season on the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List. She is one of three mid-major golfers to make the list.
- Seven out of the eight Golden Flashes' golfers are returners from last season's MAC Tournament Championship team. Freshman Vicky Huang is the only newcomer, last playing for the Chinese National Team.
