David Rush joined the Kent State University athletics department in February of 2017 serving as the assistant athletic director for facilities and operations. Rush was promoted to associate athletic director for facilities and operations in 2022.
Rush oversees all of Kent State University’s athletic facilities, including scheduling, game management, maintenance, and facility rentals. Rush also assists in capital projects within athletics.
Prior to his arrival at Kent State, Rush spent just over two years as coordinator of athletic facilities and events at Emory University. At Emory, Rush oversaw the day-to-day general maintenance of all athletic and recreational facilities along with athletic event management.
Rush received his master’s degree in sports administration from Bowling Green State University and his undergraduate degree at Ohio Northern University while playing football.
David and his wife, Kristin, have three children, Lucas (2016), Lauren (2019) and Logan (2021).
