CJ Conrad joined Kent State in the spring of 2024 as the tight ends coach.
In 2024, the tight ends group averaged 12.4 receiving yards per catch.
Conrad came to Kent State after one season at Eastern Kentucky, where he coached tight ends. He was part of a staff that was eighth in total offense in the FCS and coached a first-team all-conference tight end.
A graduate of and an All-SEC tight end at the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Conrad got his coaching start with the Wildcats as a graduate assistant. He worked with tight ends and special teams for two seasons before serving as the offensive quality control coach during the 2023 spring season. Conrad was a team captain for the Wildcats and an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants, where he made the practice squad for the 2019 season.
