Golden Flashes Aim to Keep Momentum at Home this Weekend

Kent State (2-2) returns home for two games this weekend when it hosts Richmond (2-2) on Friday and No. 19 Michigan State (2-2) on Saturday. Both matches are set to begin at noon.

The Matchups
• This will be Kent State's first ever meeting against Richmond.
• The Golden Flashes are 7-20-2 all-time against the Spartans.
• The last time they met was a 2-4 loss at home for Kent State in 2012.
• The Golden Flashes last beat the Spartans at home in 2010, 2-0.

Player of the Week Honoree
• Sophomore Madison Thompson enters the weekend as the reigning Offensive Player of the Week after seven points with three goals and one assists against Siena and Vermont last weekend.
• Thompson leads Kent State and the MAC with ten points this season and is nationally ranked 14th in goals per game and 12th in points per game.
National Field Hockey Day
• Saturday is USA Field Hockey's National Day of Field Hockey.

Fall Food Fight
• Kent State's fall sports are holding a Fall Food Fight to collect non-perishable items to restock the shelves at the Center of Hope in Ravenna, Kent Social Services and the Kent State Food Pantry.
• Donation bins will be set up at the entrance of Murphy-Mellis Field for all home games beginning this weekend.
