Kent State Earns 4-3 Rain-Soaked Victory at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. β Kent State finished the weekend road trip with a 4-3 win over host Vermont in a rained-soaked match on Saturday afternoon.
Hannah Faulkner got the attack started at the 23:44 minute mark with a goal after a pass from Julia Hofmann.Β Vermont quickly tied it up a minute later to take the game to halftime in a 1-1 tie.
Hofmann took over in the second half, scoring two goals, the first at 37:57 and the second at 44:15.
The Catamounts again answered two more times in the game, but Madison Thompson utilized her speed to score the deciding goal at 65:38 to solidify the win.
Andrea Rinehart played the full 70 minutes in goal with two saves.Β Hofmann led the team with eight shots on the day while Faulkner, Missy Ramsey and Ines Delpech all had five each.
Kent State dominated Vermont as the Golden Flashes had 28 shots compared to just seven for the home team.Β Kent State also earned 14 corners in the game while Vermont had just three.
The Golden Flashes now return home next weekend for two matches.Β They face Richmond on Friday and Michigan State on Saturday, both at noon.
