HISTORY! Women's Golf Wins 17th-Straight MAC Championship

LEBANON, Ohio – Move over, Eastern Michigan men's swimming and diving, you have company.
Kent State women's golf shot a final round of 309 to win the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championship on Sunday, winning the event for the 17th-straight season, tying the MAC record for consecutive championships.
The Golden Flashes finished at 54-over with a 918 total in the three rounds to beat runner-up Eastern Michigan by ten strokes.
Josée Doyon won her third-straight event to take individual medalist honors at 6-over after shooting 2-over in every round of the tournament. She won by five strokes total.
Wad Phaewchimplee tied for 4th place after a 9-over final round brought her total to 14-over. Jennifer Ha also finished in the top ten in 8th place with a 17-over after shooting 5-over on Sunday.
Natalie Goodson tied for 11th place, also shooting 5-over to end at 19-over. Maddy Mullins finished tied for 28th at 29-over total.
Doyon was also named the MAC Women's Golfer of the Year while Head Coach Greg Robertson earned Coach of Year honors. Making First Team All-MAC was Doyon, Phaewchimplee and Ha. Goodson was named to the Second Team.
The team will head to NCAA Regionals in two weeks. The selection show will air The Golf Channel on Monday at 7 p.m.
