T&F Hosts Doug Raymond Invitational Saturday

Kent State's T&F teams return to action Saturday, January 16th to host the Doug Raymond Invitational in the Kent State Field House, with events slated to start at 12pm.
The women's team was ranked No. 23 in the USTFCCCA NCAA D1 Preseason Poll released on January 6th, as they are the only Mid-American Conference school inside the top-25 for both the men's and women's rankings. Kent State's women's team came in second in the MAC preseason coaches' poll as the men were picked to finish third.
Last Time Out ... Kent State returns to action after not competing since December 11th and 12th when they hosted the Kent State Golden Flashes Gala. The Flashes had a strong showing to open the season and look to continue in 2016 as they work their way to the Mid-American Conference Championships, held in Akron, as well as sending athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
Athlete Watch at Doug Raymond ... schedule to compete unattached in the women's pole vault is 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Jenn Suhr. Suhr is slated to appear in the pole vault competition which is set to start at 12:30pm. Suhr won the 2012 London Olympics with a mark fo 4.75m and has an indoor personal-record of 5.02m (16' 5.5"). She is currently the Women's Indoor Record holder with that mark, 5.02m. Suhr won the Bronze medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games held in Toronto, the Silver medal at the 2008 Valencia World Indoor Championships, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2013 Moscow World Championships, and the Gold medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
