Field Hockey Falls on Late Goal Against Temple, 1-0

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Kent State University field hockey team (2-4) dropped its first of two weekend matches on a last minute goal against the Temple Owls (1-4), 1-0, Saturday at Northwestern.
The Golden Flashes and Owls were scoreless until the 69th minute, with Kent State the far more active team on offense. However, Temple took the victory on a goal with 1:11 remaining on the clock. The Owls scored on a penalty corner, with the goal coming from Sarah Tu Keer and the assists credited to Maddie Merton and Rachael Mueller.
Leading up to the game-winning goal from Temple, Kent State put constant pressure on the opposition. The Flashes outshot Temple 16-4, forcing 11 saves by Temple. Kent State took nine corners to Temple's five. Ines Delpech led Kent State with four shots, two on goal.
Kylie LeBlanc started in goal against Temple, securing one save over 69 minutes played.
Kent State will look to even the weekend with a win against the hosts Northwestern Sunday at 1:30 p.m. EST/12:30 p.m. CST.
