
No. 14 Women’s Golf in Search of Third Consecutive Win at Illini Women’s Invitational

KENT, Ohio- The No. 14 Kent State women's golf team will travel north of the Windy City to in search of a third consecutive victory over an elite field at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah. A two-day, 54-hole event, the 2018 Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah runs from Monday through Tuesday on the 6,159-yard, Par 72 course at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
The first round will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT with continuous play into the second round. The final round of play will be played on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. CT shotgun start.
The 15-team field features nine teams that are ranked in Golfweek's top 50 rankings including, No. 19 San Jose State, No. 20 Miami, No. 24 Illinois, No. 26 SMU, No. 32 Purdue, No. 35 Virginia Tech, No. 36 East Carolina, and No. 49 Texas Tech. Also making up the field: Augusta, Indiana, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, MAC opponent Northern Illinois, and Wisconsin.
The Kent State lineup features senior Michaela Finn, junior Marissa Kirkwood, sophomore Kory Nielsen, junior Pimnipa Panthong, and junior Karoline Stormo. The Flashes will also bring junior Julia Goodson, sophomore Chloe Salort, and freshman Thitapa Pakdeesettakul playing as individuals. This will be Pakdeesettakul's first collegiate appearance.
Kent State will be paired with Illinois and Miami (Fl) in tomorrow's rounds with their tee time scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
