
Flashes Finish Seventh at Royal Oaks Intercollegiate

DALLAS, Texas- The Kent State University men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a seventh-place finish at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate which concluded on Tuesday.
Kent State finished at 6-over par 858 (295-280-288) after the Flashes completed the final round with a 1-under 283.
Julien Paltrinieri led the Flashes after he posted a career-low 5-under par 66 in his final round. Paltrinieri shot a bogey-free round and fired five birdies, three of which were in a row. For the tournament, he finished tied for 24th at 1-over 214.
Cade Breitenstine finished tied for 27th at 2-over 215. Breitsenstine fired a final-round score of 2-over 73. He led the team in par-3 scoring (-1).
Josh Gilkison and Will Kurtz both finished tied for 29th for the tournament with a 3-over par 216 score. Gilkison carded a third-round score of 1-over 72 with three birdies, while Kurtz used three birdies to score 1-over par in the final round. Kurtz led the team with 10 total birdies.
Rounding out the lineup for the Flashes was Brayden Baldridge who posted a 5-over 76 score and finished tied for 49th at 8-over for the tournament.
The Royal Oaks Tournament was the last of the tournaments to be played in the fall for the Flashes. Kent State resumes play on Feb. 22-23 as the Flashes compete in the Seminole Intercollegiate.
