
Kent State to Travel to Lafayette for 34th Annual Louisiana Classic

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State men's golf team is set to take on its first stroke play competition of the spring season. The Flashes will compete in the 34th Annual Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La., Feb. 25-26. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held on the 6,866-yard, Par 72 course at Oakbourne CountyClub.
The Flashes will join 14 other team in the field at the Louisiana Classics, including Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, McNeese, UMKC, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern Miss, Texas State, Toledo, UTSA and Wichita State. Tournament play will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, and teams will play 36 holes continuously. The final round will be held Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Last time out, Kent State competed in the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate back in October and finished 10th.
The Flashes lineup will be seniors Bjarki Petursson and Gisli Sveinbergsson, junior Chris Doody, sophomore Will Kurtz, and freshmen Julien Paltrinieri and Johnny Travale.
