
Golden Flashes Fall to Runnin' Bulldogs

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team (0-9) suffered a 20-12 loss at the hands of Gardner-Webb (5-4) at Dix Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes were led in scoring by Megan Kozar, who scored four goals to give her a team-high 21 for the season. Abby Jones recorded three goals for the Flashes, bringing her season total to 15.
A pair of Flashes tallied their first goals of the season, with Kelli Bailey and Katie Stachler each recording second-half goals. Bailey finished with two goals in the contest. Nine players have now scored goals this season for Kent State, including six in today's game.
Gardner-Webb was led by Abby Hanscom (4g, 1a) and Talen Francis (4g). The Runnin' Bulldogs had nine different players score in the game, including six players with multiple goals. Katie Sylvester was stellar in goal, saving eight shots in the game.
Up Next
The Flashes will travel to Coastal Carolina for its first ASUN conference matchup. After the quick road trip, the Flashes will be back home to host Delaware State and Howard for two games in three days, March 29 and 31.
