
Gilkison Earns Top-5 Performance at Maui Jim

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.- Josh Gilkison finished tied for third and paced the Flashes' at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday. Kent State posted an 11-under 829 score (269-273-287).
Arizona State won the tournament at 38-under and Arizona took second place with a 31-under score.
Gilkison led the Flashes the whole tournament and never fell past third place. For the tournament, Gilkison shot a 9-under 201 score after he carded a 1-over 71 in his final round. He also led the Flashes' in par-3 scoring (-2), par-4 scoring (-4), and birdies (16).
Julien Paltrinieri fired an even-par score in his final round and finished 3-under 207 for the tournament. He fired three birdies on the day and ended the tournament with 11.
Cade Breitenstine and Chris Vandette both tied for 44th in the tournament at 1-over 211 after carding a final-round score of 3-over 73.
Rounding out the Flashes' lineup was Will Kurtz who finished tied for 55th after carding a 6-over in the final round.
Kent State returns to action Sept. 23-24 in the Inverness Intercollegiate hosted by Toledo.
