Golden Flashes Drop Second Straight to Start Season

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. โ The Kent State lacrosse team (0-2) suffered its second consecutive loss to begin the 2020 season against Robert Morris (1-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes started slow for the first time this season, falling behind 6-1 to start the contest. The Colonials continued to pile on goals despite the Flashes fighting all the way to the final whistle.
Sophomore Abby Jones led the way for the Flashes again, scoring a team-high three goals and adding an assist. It was her second straight four-point game to open the season. Sophomore Megan Kozar scored her second goal of the season, while fellow sophomores Meghan Cawood, Eva Nikolai and Graceyn Dean each scored their first goal of the season. Maddy Mead led the Flashes on defense with a career-high three caused turnovers.
The Flashes are back in action next Friday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. against St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y. They will then host Butler at Dix Stadium on Friday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. in their home opener.
