KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's lacrosse team (2-5) tied the program record with 21 goals as it defeated Presbyterian (1-2) at Dix Stadium on Monday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes used an incredible 15-goal second half to blow out the Blue Hose, 21-12.
"I am thrilled that the way we have been practicing is translating to the games now," said Head Coach Brianne Tierney. "We have struggled to score in the double digits this year, but the flood gates opened today. The team should be proud of themselves, and I am excited to see how we can build on this win."
Madison Rapier was the star of the day, as she scored a career-high five goals and recorded a career-high seven draw controls. Rapier leads the Flashes with 17 goals on the season and has had multiple goals in six of the team's seven games, including each of the last four games.
Jackie Wolford tied Rapier with five points, scoring four goals and tallying an assist. Wolford was on fire in her first game since recorded her first career goal. She has six goals in the last two games and is becoming a consistent force in the Flashes' offense.
Kenzie Sklar added three goals in the game, tying her career high. Kelli Bailey and Abby Jones each added two goals for the Flashes, while Katie Pettine recorded her first two career goals in the offensive onslaught.
