
Track and Field Set to Compete in the UB Invitational

The Kent State track and field program travels to Buffalo, New York to compete in the University of Buffalo Invitational on Saturday, April 17 at the UB Track and Field Stadium.
Competition begins on Saturday at 1 p.m. with men's long jump, women's pole vault, and men's hammer throw. Running events get time on the track at 1:30 p.m. Competition will come to a close with the men's 4x400-meter relay starting at approximately 5:45 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 10 student-athletes traveling to Buffalo who rank in the top 5 in the Mid-American Conference in their respective events, 7 of which set new marks last weekend at the Tennessee Relays.
Highlighting the Flashes are Leah Pasqualetti and Grace Tennant who both hold the top spot in their respective events. Pasqualetti is tied for first in the women's pole vault clearing a height of 13'-9.25" and Tennant is in sole possession of first in the women's shot put (52'-5.25"). Tennant also holds the second-place ranking in the women's discus with a throw of 172'-0".
Gabby Bailey and Vanessa Vodan are the other Flashes traveling on the women's team who rank in the top 5 in the MAC. Bailey earned her second-place rank last weekend in the shot put with a throw of 51'-6.5" and Vodan has her fifth-place rank in the javelin launching the spear 139'-5".
On the men's side, Brad Jones and Kristian Kneffler each set new marks last weekend in the high jump and pole vault, respectively. Jones ranks second in the MAC in the high jump (6'-9.75") while Kneffler ranks second in the pole vault (16'-10.75"). Lukas Van Der Watt joins Kneffler ranking tied for third (16'-6.75").
Rounding out the men traveling to Buffalo who rank in the top 5 in the MAC are Jacob Mally, Del'Mario Hairston, and Bradley Heck, each earning a fourth-place rank. Mally earned his ranking in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.74, Hairston in the long jump with a distance of 22'-10", and Heck in the javelin with a throw of 198'-11".
