The Kent State field hockey team (9-3, 7-3 MAC) will end the 2021 Spring season hosting Central Michigan University on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 at 5 p.m. at Murphy-Mellis Field. Friday's game will also serve as Kent State's Senior Day with recognition for Emma Bressler and Hailie Balachick.
The Flashes are riding a four-game win streak heading into the final weekend of the season. They look to complete their third weekend sweep in a row against the Chippewas, a team they battled with last year late into the fourth quarter before coming out on top.
SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Central Michigan finished 2019 with an 2-17 overall record but are 5-4 this Spring. The Chippewas return 7 of their 10 point scorers from last season, including their top two in Alice O'Hagan (14) and Samantha Glapinski (10). O'Hagan and Glapinski also led the team in goals scored with 6 and 5, respectively.
THE SERIES
Last season, the Golden Flashes beat the Chippewas 3-2 at Cristy Freese Field. Kent State now holds a 56-15 all-time series advantage over Central Michigan.
