
No. 23 Field Hockey Heads to Michigan for a Pair of Games

The 23rd ranked Kent State field hockey team (5-2, 1-0 MAC) will travel north to battle against Central Michigan on Friday, Sept. 24 and No. 1 Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 26. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The Golden Flashes look to extend their current two game win streak with the pair of games this weekend.
SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Central Michigan went 5-7 last Spring and are 1-6 this Fall. They return their top two point scorers from last season in Alice O'Hagan (14) and Kate Biglin (8). O'Hagan and Biglin started all 12 games for the Chippewas and also led the team in goals with five and four, respectively.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
The Wolverines went 15-3 over the 2020 season and are 6-0 this Fall. They are currently ranked No. 1 in the country and took down North Carolina in the first game of the season when they were ranked No. 1. Michigan returns their top five point scorers in Sarah Pyrtek (17), Kathryn Peterson (14), Halle O'Neill (11), Anouk Veen (10), and Katie Anderson (9).
THE SERIES
The Flashes beat the Chippewas this past Spring 6-0 but lost to the Wolverines in 2019 by a score of 0-4. Kent State now holds a 58-15 all-time series advantage over Central Michigan and are 4-13-3 all-time against Michigan.
