KENT, Ohio – The No. 23 Kent State field hockey team (5-3, 1-1 MAC) fell to Central Michigan 1-0 in Mount Pleasant.
The Flashes dominated the game in total shots (26-11) and penalty corners (14-4), but barely edged the Chippewas in shots on goal (9-7) which proved costly.
After a scoreless first quarter, Central Michigan's Kaitlyn Bowker found the back of the net to give the Chippewas a one goal lead. Neither team would find any success scoring for the rest of the game.
Kent State is set to take on No. 1 Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor.
