
Golden Flashes Travel to Miami Wednesday Night

Kent State seeks a season sweep of Miami when the teams meet inside of Millett Hall Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
After winning their first six games to start February, the Golden Flashes (16-9, 8-8 MAC) lost at Akron on Saturday, 73-64, and Monday night to Bowling Green, 77-67. Bridget Dunn scored a career-high 21 points against the Falcons and shot 5-for-5 inside of the three-point arc. Hannah Young (11), Nila Blackford (10) and Katie Shumate (10) also scored in double-figures.
Kent State has defeated a pair of Power 5 opponents this season. The Flashes rank 29th in the nation in three-pointers per game (8.2) and 30th in three-point field goal percentage (.355).
The All-MAC trio of junior Katie Shumate (12.4 ppg), junior Nila Blackford (11.4 ppg) and senior Lindsey Thall (10.6 ppg) led Kent State offensively. Blackford grabs a team-best 9.2 rebounds per game and is averaging a double-double (12.2 ppg, 10.0 rpg) in conference action. Sophomore Casey Santoro has been one of the nation's most productive non-starters with averages of 11.5 points and 3.2 assists per game while ranking 36th nationally with a 2.13 assist-to-turnover ratio. Freshman Bridget Dunn (9.9 ppg) is averaging a 11.7 points per game during MAC play. Senior Hannah Young (7.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg) has helped the Flashes dominate opponents on the glass.

The RedHawks (8-17, 4-12 MAC) have lost three games in a row and have been outscored by an average of 18.0 points per game. Miami is last in the conference in scoring defense (72.2 ppg) and has allowed 11 straight opponents to score at least 67 points.
Guard Peyton Scott ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring at 19.6 points per game and also leads the RedHawks with averages of 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Guard Ivy Wolf is averaging 11.6 points per game and has made a team-high 46 three-point field goals. Guard Edyn Battle adds 10.6 points per game.
