KENT, Ohio – The Kent State men's golf team will travel to Columbus this weekend for the 50th Annual Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at the Columbus Country Club.
The Golden Flashes will compete against Ball State, Indiana, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Toledo. Tee times begin Saturday at 7:30 a.m., and the teams will play two rounds on day one before playing the third and final round on Sunday starting at 7:30 a.m.
"We always look forward to playing at Ohio State," said Head Coach Jon Mills. "We are playing a new course this year at Columbus Country Club. A few of our players have experience playing there. We are excited to get on the course and compete this weekend."
Cade Breitenstine will look to defend his 2021 individual championship in this event. He posted a 3-under par 210 a year ago and helped the Flashes to a fourth-place finish. Jared Wilson tied for 18th place last season.
The Flashes are one of just 12 schools in the 50-year history of this event to claim a team title, last doing so in 2012. In total, Kent State has won the event four times including three in a row from 1993-95.
