SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Kent State men's golf team finished their opening tournament of the season with a 14th place finish at this year's Fighting Irish Classic.
The Flashes were led by Cade Breitenstine and Bryce Reed, who carded team-leading rounds of 72 and 71 respectively on Monday.
Despite facing some adversity in the final round, freshman Ben MacLean showed flashes of brilliance, shooting a team-best 68 in the second round on Sunday.
The Gators of Florida would edge out Georgia Southern by a single stroke for the tournament victory, with the hosts in Notre Dame finishing fourth.
