
Kent State Heads to Pair of Track and Field Meets this Weekend

Kent State's track and field program will send student-athletes to two different meets for the second weekend in a row. The majority of team members will compete at the Akron Invitational while others will travel to the Meyo Invitational.
AKRON INVITATIONAL
The Golden Flashes will have 43 student-athletes competing at the University of Akron. Josh Dreves and Mason Murphy will compete in the first four events as part of the men's heptathlon beginning at 4:15Â p.m. on Friday. 10:50 a.m. The rest of the team will join them in action on Saturday. The day's events will start at 11 a.m.
Kent State has five competitors — Kristian Kneffler (men's pole vault), Nolan Landis (men's shot put), Grace Luther (women's weight throw), Leah Pasqualetti (women's pole vault) and Aliesha Shaw (women's shot put) — who rank in the top-100 nationally entered for competition.
MEYO INVITATIONAL
Kent State has 12 student-athletes entered to run mid-distance and distance races at the University of Notre Dame. Five Flashes will be in action on Friday in the 5,000-meter races that are scheduled to start at 7:40 pm. On Saturday, the team will have runners in the 3,000-meter run (10 a.m.), mile (10:50 a.m.) and 800-meter run (1:10 p.m.).
Baidy Ba is ranked 68 in the country in the men's mile and Ethan Yost is 98 in the men's 800m.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will be back in action at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva on Saturday, Feb. 11.
