
Golden Flashes fall to San Diego State

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team lost 15-9 to San Diego State tonight.
In the first quarter, the Aztecs came out strong and scored three goals in the first 11 minutes. To give the Golden Flashes the first goal of the game, Allie Lee scored to make the score 3-1.
Five minutes into the second quarter, San Diego State found their momentum and scored four more goals with Emma Betts and Deanna Balsama scoring their second goals of the game. After two more successful goal but the Aztecs, Jackie Wolford increased the Flashes score to 9-2. With three minutes left, Kent State led in draw controls 10-4.
With a score of 2-11after the half, Allie Lee scored her second goal of the game and shortly after Kenie Sklar scored to make the scoreboard 12-4. Morgan Kubicki kept up the intensity and scored the Flashes third goal in a row. Kent State led in turnovers 6-1. At the end of the quarter the score was 13-6 in favor of San Diego.
In the final quarter, Sklar accomplished a hat trick and brought the Golden Flashes up to 13-7. Kubicki scored again after a response from the Aztecs, resulting the score to 15-8. A few minutes after, freshman Zayda Crumpton scored her sixth career goal for Kent State.
