
Lacrosse falls to UC Davis

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team lost, 18-8, to UC Davis this afternoon.
In quarter one, the Aggies struck first and scored two goals within the beginning four minutes. Regan Arkless from UC Davis scored her second goal of the game shortly after, taking the score 3-0. Madison Flannigan had six saves at the end of the first 15 minutes and the score resulted in 6-0.
Going into the second quarter, Peyton Gellin put the Golden Flashes on the board and scored at 13:28. Finding the team's momentum, Allie Lee scored to bring Kent State up with another goal. Keeping UC Davis at six goals, Kenzie Sklar scored for the Flashes to secure three goals in a row. At the end of the quarter, the Aggies were able to score one more goal, 7-3.
To open the third quarter, UC Davis scored bringing them up 8-3. Kent State responded back and secured a goal by Zayda Crumpton. The Aggies made five more goals before the end of the quarter, 13-4.
In the final quarter, Morgan Kubicki continued the fight and scored for the Flashes. A few minutes after, Sklar scored her second goal of the game bringing the score to 13-6. UC Davis scored four goals in a row before Sidney Dering battled back and scored. After another goal by the Aggies, Sklar scored her third goal of the game making the score 18-8 at the end of regulation.
Up next, the Golden Flashes take on Delaware State for the home opener on Wednesday, March 8 at 4 p.m.
