
Lacrosse returns to Dix Stadium for home opener week

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team opens its home schedule at Dix Stadium against Delaware State on Wednesday, March 8 at 4 p.m. and against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday, March 10 at 2 p.m.
About the Flashes
The Golden Flashes (2-3) traveled to California this past weekend and lost to San Diego State and UC Davis. Kenzie Sklar recorded double hat tricks in the weekend series at California. She currently leads the team in goals (18), points (21), and shots (40).
Sklar has scored at least three goals in every game and is the Mid-American Conference leader at 3.60 goals per game, while Morgan Kubicki is the conference leader in assists per game (1.60).
About the Hornets
Delaware State (2-2) opened the season with two wins but fell to Saint Francis (Pa.) and Presbyterian in its past two contest. Rossella Nardi leads the Hornets in goals this season (12) followed by Ebony Reddick and Zahra Smith (7). Delaware State plays at Eastern Michigan on Tuesday before driving down to Kent.
About the Red Flash
Saint Francis (3-1) is coming off a two-game win streak against Akron and Delaware State this past weekend. The Red Flash are led by Autumn McHenry with goals (10). Goalkeeper Elyssa Enrique is the national leader in save percentage (.618).
Series History
Kent State defeated Delaware State, 21-6, for the first victory in program history on March 9, 2019. This will be the second matchup between the programs.
The Golden Flashes lost to Saint Francis (Pa.) in the program's first two seasons but recorded the first win in the series last season, 17-14.
