
Flashes continue MAC contests this week

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (5-6, 2-0 MAC) travels to Ypsilanti to take on Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. and returns home to Dix Stadium on Saturday, April 15 to host against Robert Morris at 1 p.m.
About the Flashes
After back-to-back Mid-American Conference contest wins this past week, the Golden Flashes are looking to continue their streak. Last Saturday, Kent State opened the conference series against Akron and won 6-5. The Golden Flashes also secured a 13-10 victory over Robert Morris which was the first program win against the Colonials. This is the first time Kent State holds a 2-0 record in the MAC. The Golden Flashes lead the conference in draw control percentage (.514), ground balls per game (19.18), goals allowed per game (12.18), and save percentage (.496).
At Robert Morris, Jackie Wolford became the second player in program history to reach 100 goals. Wolford and Sklar are tied for second in the MAC with 34 goals. Morgan Kubicki leads the MAC with 20 assists and is tied for the program season record.
Goalkeeper Madison Flannigan made 11 saves against the Colonials and leads the MAC in save percentage (.509) and ground balls (29). Zayda Crumpotn recorded eight draw controls, gaining important possessions for Kent State. Crumpton also had a season high record of three goals.
About the Eagles
Eastern Michigan (1-10, 0-3 MAC) is currently on an eight-game losing streak but set a program record for goals in a 17-15 loss at Youngstown State on Saturday.
Sydney Lawrence leads the MAC with 20 caused turnovers and has team-best totals of 20 ground balls and nine assists. Lawrence is second on the team with 20 goals and 29 points. Mackenzie Blackwell leads the Eagles in goals (28) and points (30) while ranking second in the conference in draw controls (56).
About the Colonials
Robert Morris (4-7, 2-1 MAC) is scheduled to play Youngstown State at home on Wednesday after returning to the win column with an 18-10 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
Chelsea Coleman leads the team in goals (22) and Colleen Tiftt has totaled 19 goals and seven assists for a team-high 26 points.
Series History
The Golden Flashes and Eagles will meet for the first time in program history.
Robert Morris is the team Kent State has played the most since the program began in 2019. The Flashes defeated the Colonials, 13-10, last Wednesday to improve to 1-6 all-time in the series.
