
Record-Setting Performances Lead Flashes Lacrosse Against Eagles

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Kenzie Sklar and Jackie Wolford combined for 13 goals to lead the Kent State lacrosse team to a 19-9 victory over Eastern Michigan in the first meeting between the programs on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes (6-6, 3-0 MAC) have matched program records for wins in a season and longest winning streak with three consecutive victories.
Sklar recorded six goals and four assists for 10 points, breaking the previous school record of eight.
Wolford tied a pair of Golden Flashes records with seven goals, matching the record held by Abby Jones and Megan Kozar. The junior now has 41 goals this season to tie her own record from a year ago.
Zayda Crumpton set a Kent State single-game record with six caused turnovers. Crumpton added a career-high eight ground balls to go with five draw controls and two goals.
The teams both scored four goals over the first 15 minutes, but the Flashes scored the first four goals in the second quarter and led 10-6 at halftime.
Eastern Michigan scored three of the first five goals to start the third period to get within 12-9. Kent State then pulled away by closing the game with seven unanswered goals over the final 20 minutes.
Madison Flannigan had 13 saves on 22 shots with a .591 save percentage. Kent State outshot the Eagles 39-30 and led in caused turnovers 20-11, as well as draw controls 18-14.
Up next, the Flashes return home to Dix Stadium to take on Robert Morris on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m.
