
Golden Flashes Crush Cavaliers for First Win

KENT, Ohio — The Kent State women's basketball team recorded the third highest-scoring game in program history Thursday night at the M.A.C. Center, defeating Walsh, 113-54.
The Golden Flashes (1-1) shot 57.3% from the floor en route to scoring the most points since putting up 119 against UNC Greensboro on Dec. 29, 1993.
All nine players who saw action made multiple field goals. Sophomore Mya Babbitt drained five three-pointers and finished with a career-high 20 points to lead all scorers. Freshman Journey Hildebrand (19), redshirt junior Kaley Perkins (13), senior Bianca Juzzo (12) and freshman Meghan Murray (7) also had career-high scoring performances. Murray led Kent State with a career-high seven assists.
The Flashes held a dominant 61-21 rebounding advantage. Senior Bridget Dunn led the way 12 boards, while sophomore Riley Rismiller was close behind with a career-high 10 to go with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting for her first double-double. Babbitt added a career-high eight boards.
Senior Jenna Batsch totaled 15 points and five assists, matching her career-high.
Kent State will play its first road games of the season next week against ninth-ranked NC State on Nov. 14 and Elon on Nov. 16.
