
Flashes fall to Ohio State in season opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (0-1) fell 17-6 to Ohio State (2-0) this afternoon in the season opener.
Zayda Crumpton tied the score 1-1 to score the first goal of the season for the Flashes. The Buckeyes led 5-1 in the first quarter with seven shots on goal (7-3).
Late in the second quarter, Allie Lee scored to pick up the momentum for Kent State. At the half, Ohio State led in caused turnovers (6-1) and shots (20-11).
With only seconds remaining in the third quarter, Emily Bond scored while the Flashes were a man-down to bring the score 14-3. Leading in shots (10), Jackie Wolford scored with five minutes left in regulation. Crumpton scored her second goal of the game two minutes after, bringing the score 16-5. Morgan Halli was able to score one more goal for Kent State with 9 seconds remaining, recording her first career goal.
Up next, the Flashes host George Mason in the home opener at Dix Stadium on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
