Lacrosse Takes on George Mason in Home Opener
The Kent State lacrosse team (0-1) prepares for the home opener at Dix Stadium against George Mason (2-0) on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes come off a 17-6 loss to Ohio State in the season opener. Goalkeeper Taylor Monturo was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week after entering the game late in the second quarter and recording 10 saves on 25 shots.
Zayda Crumpton currently leads Kent State in goals (2) and draw controls (2). Crumpton secured the first goal of the season against the Buckeyes on Sunday and freshman Morgan Halli scored her first career goal with nine seconds remaining.
About the Patriots
George Mason went 2-0 in pair contests this past weekend for the season opener. In a close matchup against William & Mary on Feb. 9, the Patriots won 11-10. On Feb. 11, George Mason outshot Radford 33-18, securing a 16-8 victory.
Dahlia Trippel and Chloe Reed both earned a hat trick against Radford on Sunday. Shannon Tuozzo currently leads the team in goals (5) and points (6).
