
Flashes fall to the Lions

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Kent State lacrosse team (1-4) fell 18-11 against Lindenwood (5-1) this evening.
In the first quarter, Jackie Wolford took the lead 1-0 after scoring in the first minute. The Lions tied the score 1-1, until shortly after when Zayda Crumpton brought the score 2-1. Wolford scored her second of the game to tie the score 3-3. Lindenwood took the lead by the end of the quarter, leading 5-3.
The Lions tallied two more goals in the start of the second quarter. Crumpton then secured her second goal of the game, bringing the score 7-4. Before the half, Peyton Gellin scored her first goal of the season.
Lindenwood increased the lead, 11-5, in the third quarter. With three minutes remaining, Emily Bond scored for the Flashes. Morgan Halli scored her second goal of the season with the quarter ended 12-7.
In the final minutes of regulation, Crumpton recorded a hat trick for the game and Wolford finished with five goals.
Goalkeeper Taylor Monturo recorded a season high of 12 saves and 35 shots faced.
Up next, the Flashes take on Cincinnati on Sunday, March 3 at 12 p.m.
