The Kent State lacrosse team (1-3) prepares for weekend contests against Lindenwood (4-1) on Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. and Cincinnati (3-2) on Sunday, March 3 at 12 p.m.
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes won 19-12 against Delaware State on Friday. Kent State out shot the Hornets 28-25 and led in draw controls 16-12. On Sunday, the Flashes fell to Delaware 18-4. Jackie Wolford secured a hat trick and Meghan Haddow scored her second goal of the season.
Zayda Crumpton tied the individual game record twice for draw controls (9) against Delaware State and Delaware. Crumpton also is tied for second in the Mid-American Conference with five assists per game. Wolford is No. 2 in the MAC for shots per game (25) and goals (9).
About the Lions
Lindenwood returns after a 1-1 weekend in California. On Friday, the Lions secured a 8-7 victory against University of California. Logann Eldredge recorded four goals and leads the team with 21 goals. Against UC Davic on Sunday, Lindenwood fell 13-12 despite out shooting the Aggies 40-24.
The Lions are ranked No. 1 in the ASUN Conference for save percentage (.474).
About the Bearcats
Cincinnati is currently on a three game win streak after victories against Central Michigan (17-4) on Friday, and Butler (17-4) on Sunday. Camryn Callaghan secured five goals in each contest over the weekend. Callaghan leads the Bearcats in goals (23), points (25), and free position goals (5).
Cincinnati recorded a 15-0 shutout against Robert Morris on Feb. 18 to lead the American Athletic Conference in shutouts (1). The Bearcats are also ranked No. 1 in shots per game (171).
Series History
The Flashes fell to Lindenwood, 18-13, last season at Dix Stadium.
Cincinnati is 5-0 against Kent State. In the season opener last year, the Flashes fell 14-7.
