
Lacrosse falls to Bucknell

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (2-6) fell, 15-12, to Bucknell (2-4) this afternoon.
In the first quarter, Jackie Wolford scored to tie the game 1-1. Responding quickly to the Bison, Meghan Haddow scored to tie the score again 2-2. At the end of the first quarter, Bucknell led 5-2.
The Bison added three more goals in the beginning of the second quarter, until Wolford recorded her second goal of the game and brought the score 8-3. Megan Cook then scored her second goal of the season. Before the half, Wolford secured her sixth straight hat trick.
In the third quarter, Bucknell led 13-5. With two minutes remaining, Zayda Crumpton scored for the Flashes, and shortly after Haleigh Greenberg scored to bring the score 13-7.
Less than a minute into the final quarter, Peyton Gellin secured a goal, followed by another goal from Wolford. Crumpton recorded her second of the game and Wolford kept the Flashes momentum going by scoring her fifth goal of the game. Peyton Gellin then scored again before the end of regulation.
Freshman Sydney Davis entered the game for Kent State in the start of the third quarter. Davis recorded a season high of eight saves.
Up next, the Flashes travel to Pennsylvania to take in Saint Francis on March 13 at 2 p.m.
