
Flashes travel for pair contests and begin MAC play

The Kent State lacrosse team (2-5) travels to take on Saint Francis (Pa.) (1-4, 0-1 NEC) on Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, March 17 at 12 p.m, the Flashes begin Mid-American Conference play against Youngstown State (0-6).
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes won against Longwood (13-12) on Thursday at Dix Stadium. Zayda Crumpton secured a career-high six goals and scored every goal for the Flashes in the third quarter. Jackie Wolford recorded her sixth-straight hat trick and posted a season-high six draw controls in the second half to clinch the win. On Saturday, Kent State fell 15-12 to Bucknell. Peyton Gellin secured a season high of five draw controls, forced one turnover and netted two goals.
Wolford is ranked No. 1 in the MAC for shots per game (8.22) and points per game (4.22).
About the Red Flash
Saint Francis is currently on a two-game losing streak with loses against St. Bonaventure (11-9) on Tuesday and LIU (11-6) on Saturday in the Northeast Conference opener. Brooke Lacey was announced as the NEC Prime Performer after her performances in the past week. Lacey registered four goals and two assists for six total points, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
Bella Fisher leads the team and is ranked No. 3 in the NEC for goals (13).
About the Penguins
Youngstown State has battled and lost all contests this season so far with the most recent loss, 16-10, to Longwood on Saturday. On Monday against Stetson, goalkeeper Paige Borkowski recorded the most saves in a single game in program history with 20.
Kayla Stecker leads the MAC in caused turnovers per game (2) and ground balls per game (3.33).
Series History
The Flashes are 1-3 against the Red Flash since 2019. Last season, Kent State fell 12-9 to Saint Francis and secured a team high of 19 clears.
Youngstown State is currently 3-2 over the Flashes, including an 18-16 victory in the last matchup.
