
Kent State Draws Notre Dame in NCAA Tournament First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – The Kent State women's basketball team will travel to Notre Dame, Indiana for the opening weekend of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
The No. 15 seed Golden Flashes will play host No. 2 seed Notre Dame in a first-round matchup Saturday, March 23 at 2:15 p.m., with the winner advancing to play either No. 7 seed Ole Miss or No. 10 seed Marquette in the second round on Monday, March 25. All first and second round games will be played at the Joyce Center on the University of Notre Dame campus.
Kent State will be making its sixth overall NCAA Tournament appearance, most recently qualifying in 2002.
Led by MVP Katie Shumate, the Golden Flashes (21-10) captured the fourth Mid-American Conference Tournament championship in program, defeating Buffalo in the championship game on Saturday, 78-60, following victories over Northern Illinois in the quarterfinals and Ball State in the semifinals.
