
Flashes fall to Pitt

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (4-7, 1-0 MAC) fell 21-5 to Pitt (3-7, 0-4 ACC) this afternoon,
The Panthers took the lead 6-0 in the first quarter, out shooting the Flashes 8-0.
In the second quarter, Jackie Wolford put Kent State on the board, 9-1, with a free position goal. Pitt scored three more back-to-back goals with two minutes remaining. Before the half, Morgan Halli scored for the Flashes to bring the score 12-2.
Wolford picked up the momentum for Kent State and recorded two goals in the third quarter to secure her ninth hat trick of the season. Pitt netted three more goals before the end of the quarter, bringing the score 17-4.
The Panthers led 20-4 with five minutes remaining in regulation. Emily Bond recorded a goal shortly after for the Flashes. Pitt was able to score one more goal to bring the final score 21-5.
Lily Miller led the team in caused turnovers (2) and ground balls (5). Zayda Crumpton secured four of the seven draw controls during the game.
Up next, Kent State hosts Robert Morris in a Mid-American Conference matchup on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
