
Flashes Tie for Ninth at General Jim Hackler Championship

The Kent State men's golf team tied for ninth out of 14 teams at the General Jim Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Chris Vandette continued his strong play after his individual victory at the Dorado Beach Collegiate, tying for 12th among the 81 golfer field.
Vandette was one of seven golfers to shoot a score below 70 in the final round, posting a 69 to wrap up at even par. The Kent State veteran's final 18 holes were bogey free while tallying three birdies.
Jordan Gilkison and Bryce Reed followed Vandette finishing at four over par, tying for 28th. Reed steadily improved his score throughout the three day tournament, while Gilkison put up a strong score of 70 from holes 19-36.
The lone eagle for the Flashes belonged to Reed, converting the par five 4th hole in three shots during his final round.
Up Next
The Flashes will stay in the Palmetto state and return to action in four days, playing in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina from Mar. 24-26. The event will be hosted by the College of Charleston.
