
Flashes fall to Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Kent State lacrosse team (4-9, 1-2 MAC) fell 12-11 against Eastern Michigan (5-4, 2-0 MAC) this afternoon.
Jackie Wolford tied the score, 1-1, five minutes into the first quarter. Shortly after, Peyton Gellin secured a goal to tie the score once again. Zayda Crumpton scored for the Flashes to take the lead, 3-2, into the next quarter.
Wolford recorded a hat trick after scoring two back-to-back goals in the second quarter, bringing the score 5-3. Continuing the Flashes lead, Gellin secured her second goal of the game off a free position shot. The Eagles tied the score 6-6 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Wolford scored two more goals and Crumpton secured her second goal of the game, bringing the Flashes up 9-6. Eastern Michigan scored with three minutes remaining in the quarter.
The Eagles tied the score 9-9 with back-to-back goals in the start of the fourth quarter. Morgan Halli netted a goal to bring Kent State up 10-9. Eastern Michigan secured three goals to take the lead 12-10. Gellin recorded a hat trick after scoring with one minute remaining in regulation.
