The Kent State lacrosse team (4-9, 1-2 MAC) takes on Akron (5-7, 0-2 MAC) on Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day in a Mid-American Conference matchup.
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes fell 12-11 against Eastern Michigan on Sunday. Kent State led or tied in goals for every quarter until the final seven minutes of play. Jackie Wolford secured five goals, 12 shots, and two ground balls. Zayda Crumpton led the team with five draw controls, four ground balls, and netted two goals. The Flashes recorded a game-high of 12 caused turnovers, with Allie Bradley securing a career high of four.
Wolford continues to rank No. 1 in the MAC for goals (45), points per game (4.23), and shots per game (9.0). Wolford is ninth in the country for goals. Kent State overall leads the MAC in draw controls (171). Crumpton is tied for first in the MAC for assists (14) and draw controls (57).
About the Zips
Akron fell 11-10 against Eastern Michigan in the Zips last game. Akron led in caused turnovers (13-7) and ground balls (19-13).
Goalkeeper Kylan Rhude is first in the MAC for save percentage (.524). Noelle Boyd leads Akron in draw controls and ties Crumpton for No. 1 in the MAC (57). Sienna Hinchcliffe leads the Zips in goals (26).
Series History
The Flashes are 4-2 over the Zips, including a current three game win streak. Kent State is 3-0 at Dix Stadium when facing Akron.
