
Flashes victory over Longwood

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (2-5) won, 13-12, against Longwood (0-4) this afternoon.
Coming out strong in the first quarter, the Flashes took a 3-0 lead with goals from Jackie Wolford, Riley Floyd, and Peyton Gellin. The Lancers tied the score 3-3 at the end of the quarter.
Wolford tied the score 4-4 and recorded her second goal of the game in the second quarter. Longwood took the lead 5-4 until Morgan Halli and Zayda Crumpton increased the lead to 6-5 at the half.
Scoring four back-to-back goals, Crumpton secured the only goals in the third quarter for Kent State.
In the final quarter, Crumpton tallied on her sixth goal of the game to bring the score 11-10 in favor of the Flashes. Wolford recorded her fifth straight hat trick and Riley Floyd scored her second goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Ella Gravitt made nine saves and Wolford had a season high of six draw controls.
Up next, the Flashes take on Bucknell at Dix Stadium on Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m.
