
Flashes fall to the Buffaloes

BOULDER, Colo. - The Kent State lacrosse team (5-10) fell, 20-5, against No. 20 Colorado (10-4) this afternoon.
The Buffaloes went on a four-goal streak in the start of the first quarter. Haleigh Greenberg scored to put the Flashes on the board, 4-1. After another goal by Colorado, Riley Floyd secured a goal to bring the score 5-2. Peyton Gellin recorded her 100th career draw control in the first five minutes of play.
In the second quarter, freshmen Megan Klepacki and Eva Anderson scored their first career goals. With five seconds remaining, the Buffaloes scored off a free position shot to lead 11-4.
Klepacki scored her second goal of the game, in the last minute of the third quarter, off a free position shot.
Colorado scored five more goals to win 20-5 at the end of regulation.
Sydney Davis recorded a career high of 20 saves and tied the program individual game record while facing 41 shots on goal.
Up next, the Flashes take on Detroit Mercy in a Mid-American Conference matchup on Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
